Or do you berate yourself for being an idiot for thinking that dependability can spring from nowhere?
That must’ve been a tough position to keep. First, anything goes in a friendship. He can bail out anytime he likes because he doesn’t have to please you or explain to you. Second, you have no hold on him anymore. He can bring anyone or talk to any girl, and you are there to see it through. And lastly, you can’t expect to get the same special attention he gave you. I’d be offended, if I were in that position, but I’d have to live with it because I can’t expect anything more than that as a friend since he has other things important before me.
It depends if you still like him or not.

Don’t be offended with him for bailing on you. Being friends with an ex is an incredibly hard thing to do and he may not be ready to attempt it yet. Try to remember that you’re not his top priority any more!
