Those self help books are meant for those couples who both want to work it out. Winning someone back is hard to do, when the allure is gone so far bad that a break occures. I would say to move on and just let time takes it's course. The time for sweeping someone off their feet has gone. It only becomes flirtation and old memories can't take the place of what used to be. However, I don't think I'd buy a book on the subject. I think that the tips have already given a general idea of how things should be handled in such a situation.
