My ex girlfriend owes me $50, has my xbox360, and about 4 shirts at her house. How do I go about getting these things back?

I have asked her plenty of times and she has pretty much told me ‘F U’ and is not paying me. I owe her nothing and have nothing of hers, I don’t know what to do.
I’m in Texas if that makes a difference.

you could go to the police and tell them. they will send an officer with you to get your things. this is the standard way. state makes no difference the law is the same in most states!

Definitely small claims court. Or Judge Judy/Alex/People’s Court. This is a tailor-made case for them.

You can file in small claims court. The forms are relatively simple and there is a minor filing fee. Go down to your local courthouse. Someone there can assist you in providing you the forms you need.

That being said, even if you win your small claim, you still have to chase her for the stuff, the court won’t enforce that for you. Then you would have to take further steps to have her wages garnished, assets attached, items siezed, etc, which will probably cost more than the stuff in question.

If you feel you have a strong enough case take it small claims court but first make a police report about your belongings and see if they can help you retrieve them.
