He was dating someone at the time though and decided to try to make it work with her. That was when i met my guy. But having my ex be my first love, feelings for him never quite went away. But once things started going downhill for him and his girlfriend he began calling me, begging me to get back together with him. now he says that he will wait for me until i am done with my current boyfriend so that we can be together. At first I will admit, i led him to believe that woul happen. But now, I am head over heals in love and I would never do anything to jeapordize this. How can I tell the ex to back off without hurting his feelings?

He sounds like a problem and future stress rolled into one. Of course, it’s true that you never really get over your first "love." But the only way to secure your current relationship is to understand that you play a major part in its possible destruction. You need to be POSITIVE that you won’t fall into the trap again, and if you’re not, then you’re just going to have to tell your ex that you need to stop communication altogether. Explain to him how you feel, and that you’re sorry, but things can’t go back to the way they used to. Yes, he’ll be hurt, but he WILL get over it sometime. It’s better than EVERYONE getting hurt later on if things begin to develop.

It’ll be hard, but it’s the only way to protect the relationship you’re in now. Taking caution for a while in the beginning will save you in the long run, trust me. Good luck!

i guess the universal truth would have to simply be that my life is worse off without them. but it goes much deeper than that, since its nto really about reasons or logic, its more about emotions.

unfortunately sometimes people mask their true feelings when theyre broken up, because society tells us its best to just move on and ‘get over it’… so lots of people are inclined to hide their true feelings.

the key is to play it cool though, don’t try to rush them because they’re probably trying their hardest to get over you so you don’t want to be seen as a pushy obstacle. but if they still feel for you, they CAN Be swayed.

I would stop any communication for a while. Do not cry or apologize. Keep yourself collected, even a little cold if you wish. I don’t know why but that always worked for me. It seems that your ex thinks that you are getting over them and they start to be the one calling, texting, etc.

Allow me to repeat…they did this by mostly ACCIDENT!

What if? What they said…and what they did…could be “bottled” so to speak? And then you could “unbottle” it and put it to use? To erase old hurts…to reignite passion again…to turn back to a time when your relationship was fresh, new and exciting.

Speaking for an aquarius…being one myself…usually we are loyal and honest and stick with one person. However, if he has been with his ex a long time, and hasnt been with you that long chances are that he may go back to his ex. I always said I wouldnt go back to my ex but I did. I totally dont want to get you worried…and you definitely cant judge your ex just because hes an aquarius. Everyone is different. If he has been with you a while and tells you he loves you then your safe :)
